Our Story
We are Joe and McCall Dwyer, and we’ve been married for 22 years. Together, we have two incredible boys who are our greatest blessing. Joe grew up in Canyon, TX, and McCall was born and raised in Amarillo, TX. We both graduated from West Texas A&M University with degrees in Education and spent 15 years teaching in the Amarillo Independent School District.
In 2011, our lives were completely transformed. Through a powerful rededication to Jesus, God not only saved our marriage but also our family. It was a season of forgiveness, learning to walk in obedience, and discovering that God’s Word is alive and powerful.
As we began attending Tascosa Road Fellowship, we experienced firsthand the difference the Word of God makes in everyday life. We learned to hear His voice, obey His leading, and step into His calling. From teaching Bible studies and Sunday school to serving on the church board, our passion for God grew, and so did His call on our lives.
In 2016, God led us to step into full-time ministry as pastors of Tascosa Road Fellowship. In 2019, we changed the name to Encounter Church Amarillo to reflect the heart of our vision—that every person and every family would encounter the fullness of God through revelation and transformation. Our heart is simple: we long to see people discover the same life-giving relationship with Jesus that radically changed us. We believe every family can walk in victory, every heart can find hope, and the love and power of God can transform every life.
